Terrain at Styers Garden – Brunch in Delaware County

It’s Sunday again and you know what that means – brunch! The day you can nurse your hangover guiltlessly with an assortment of breakfast and/or lunch foods. The options are virtually endless and that’s what makes it so magnificent.

I decided to get out of the big apple this weekend and head back to my hometown in Pennsylvania. My mom, sister, and I went to a local restaurant nestled inside a greenhouse/nursery/adorable anthropology style store. If you’re ever in the Delaware County looking for an adorable place to hide away for a little while I highly suggest Terrain Cafe in Glenn Mills.

The atmosphere is rustic farmhouse.

If you’ve ever watched HGTV’s Fixer Upper you know exactly what I’m talking about. You drink water out of a mason jar, the bus boys fill your water up out of a flower watering pot, there is a fresh plant at every table, most of the meals are served on a piece of wood, and it feels like you’re inside a greenhouse with twinkling lights everywhere. The details are everything – the pre-meal bread even is cooked and given to you in a flower pot.

I’ve been here a few times and the menu is constantly changing. But, this time around I got the organic omelet, which had melted leeks, baby spinach, Neufchâtel, and came with potato hash and a side salad. It was perfect. My sister got the brioche french toast, which came with poached pears. hazelnuts and local maple syrup. Then there was my mom, who really did it right. She got the breakfast board, which came with two eggs, applewood smoked bacon, maple breakfast sausage a side of potato hash, a petit salad, and brioche toast!

It was amazing getting home to catch up with my mom and sister. It’s the perfect place for girls to go, you can’t help but be happy when you’re in that atmosphere. We ended brunch with a quick shop around the store portion of the restaurant called Styers and that may have been my favorite part! I came home with some fresh soaps, new candles, a few potted plants, and an adorable cheese platter tray!
